About EV Law
Our History
When Victoria founded EV Law in 2023, a new strategy for conducting legal business in Queensland and Victoria was formed.
Many clients now find themselves in several Courts at once. EV Law prides itself on being able to represent clients in the intertwined areas of Criminal Law, Family Law and Domestic Violence Law.
Our Team
Victoria Ward - Principal Solicitor
Victoria completed her Bachelor of Laws with Honours at Griffith University in 2013 and completed her Practical Legal Training at QUT obtaining entrance into the Golden Key Society for Academic Excellence, before being admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme and High Court in 2014.
Since being admitted, Victoria has worked in boutique Criminal and Family Law firms on the Gold Coast and has specialised in complex Criminal Law Matters, Domestic Violence Matters and Family Law Matters. Victoria prides herself on being able to represent clients in all three areas of law. She can prepare your case with a holistic view to ensure each area is carefully considered to achieve your best outcome.
Sonalia Tamia - Senior Associate
Originally from South Africa, Sonalia spent much of her life in New Zealand before relocating to Australia in pursuit of warmer weather and new opportunities. In 2022, Sonalia was admitted to the New Zealand High Court as a barrister and solicitor. Her approach to practice is client-centric, always prioritizing the unique needs and goals of each individual. Outside of work, Sonalia enjoys hot yoga, beach walks, and spending time outdoors with family and friends, finding balance and inspiration in nature and community.
Sonalia is experienced in complex parenting and property matters.
Abby Cherry - Administration
After completing year 12 in 2023, Abby joined EV Law as an administrative assistant supporting the legal team. In addition to working at EV Law, Abby is currently completing her bachelor of veterinary technology and enjoys reading books in her spare time.

Family Law
EV Law can assist you with the breakdown of your marriage or de facto relationship. If resolution by consent can’t be reached, we are experienced advocates who appear regularly in the Federal Circuit and Family Court.
